Otters
03:54
|
|||
Hold me close
So you don't float away
Like otters
As they sleep.
It's so easy
To be sure someone's here
Then they're off
In the deep.
Please don't slip away from me
Like others have before
Songs I sing,
And stories you tell,
Well, we listen
And we laugh
Not forever
Tethered in a book
But they're ours
While they last
Please don't slip away from me
But stay a little more
You and I
Both afraid to move too fast
One thing doesnt always have to lead to the next,
Just stay here, that's all that I ask.
Time goes by,
Who can say how long this will last?
One thing doesn't have to lead to anything at all
Just stay here, that's all I ask.
Sun streams in
Your heartbeat is slow
Slow and soft
In my ear
While we're in
Whatever this is we're in,
I'm so happy,
That you're here.
You and I
Both afraid to move too fast
One thing doesnt always have to lead to the next,
Just stay here, that's all that I ask.
Time goes by,
Who can say how long this will last?
One thing doesn't have to lead to anything at all
Just stay here, that's all I ask.

Northern Lights
02:25
|
|||
The trees at the bottom of our garden
Were so thick that we had to cut bits off
So you can tell which one is ours
From the brightly coloured flowers
You can see over the fence from the top
But now I'm living in a concrete jungle
Wandering through streets that I don't know
All the buildings look the same
And the streets have similar names
But I know the way to go
From the headlamps of the cars on the A58
To the neon signs of clubs at night when I've been working late
To the cityscape that glitters when I'm walking on my own
Oh these Northern Lights will guide me home.
Guide me home, guide me home
When I feel like I'm walking on my own.
When all the buildings look the same
And the streets have similar names
Oh these Northern Lights will guide me home.
For a drink in my tiny little village
There was really only one place to go
If you want a night of fun
Was go straight down to the Sun
And we'd be back in bed before you know.
But now I'm out in this concrete jungle
Getting drunk with people I don't know
My ears still hear the beat
And I'm unsteady on my feet
But I know the way to go
From the headlamps of the cars on the A58
To the neon signs of clubs at night when I've been working late
To the cityscape that glitters when I'm walking on my own
Oh these Northern Lights will guide me home.
Guide me home, guide me home
When I feel like I'm walking on my own.
When my ears still hear the beat
And I'm unsteady on my feet
Oh these Northern Lights will guide me home.
Guide me home, guide me home
When I feel like I'm walking on my own
Guide me home, they'll guide me home
Oh these Northern Lights will guide me home.

Patchwork
02:43
|
|||
I could be
Anything you want me to be
Consider me your work of art
Close to your heart to stay.
I could do
Anything you want me to do
Just go ahead and make me right
And hold me tight I pray.
Build me from remains of others, others you once loved
I know you’ll want to pick and choose, I know I’m not enough
So take that pretty girl’s dark hair and another’s skin so tanned
And mould me to perfection, I’m entirely in your hands
Give me eyes,
Bluer than the summer skies,
Or possibly an emerald hue,
It’s up to you my dear.
Arms and legs,
Dainty arms and long, slender legs?
Choose the ones you’d love the more,
That’s what I’m for, I’m here.
Craft me from your fine collection, your legacy of love,
I wait for your approval cause, I know I’m not enough
And I don’t care how much I change, I know there’s lots to do
I’m perfect being patchwork, if it means I’m loved by you
I could be
Anything you want me to be
Consider me your work of art
Close to your heart to stay.

Trains
03:41
|
|||
I could just get right on a train
Escape this weather and my brain
Within three hours I could be
Embracing someone who loves me
Oooh I'd be there on time
For the six minutes past nine
If I turned left now
But my feet carry me
To where I'm supposed to be
And I walk on by
I could just not turn up today
Travel as far as I could pay
Get off somewhere with a ridiculous name
I learned the rules, but forgot the game.
Oooh I'd be there on time
For the 6 minutes past nine
If I turned left now
But my feet carry me
To where I'm supposed to be
And I walk on by
